Its the new year and i am happy to be the same class with my "bestest" friends. First day in school is about settling who is responsible for this year's committee. I am the IT representative for this year, and overall, the feeling is bitter-sweet; i feel tired doing the same job for three years(including this year), but serving the new class is a fresh start and feeling good, so no arguments on this. After that, stayed back for cca meeting; being the head of RC is a big task, but i am prepared for the upcoming challenge. Oh yes, not to forget, i stopped updating my blog as i tend to revamp my blog every post, so i waited for the new year for this cause. Bye all, and will be back blogging soon.

After a long BREAK away from a series of test, I decided to continue today. Its the week of celebrations as it is Singapore's 43th b'day!!! Happy Birthday Singapore!!!! The National Day celebration in school was good, as there was a talentime competition,ROAR IT UP 2008. There were plenty of good performers and some substandard performers. Got a long weekend, so I went to play basketball with Wilson and Xun Bin on National Day. Every thing went on fruitfully and I am enjoying this short break at home. Haiz, but still school is more fun than staying at home.

Last week was so fun especially on our school's youth day celebration. Why? Cause we:no.1 we had a chance to dunk our teachers who went up on the dunking machine.No.2 we had almost the whole day off. No.3 we finally got to go to Singapore Poly again for our infocomm course. The day was great and many teachers were dunked, for example Mr Razak,Mr Leow....and Mrs Leong went down the flying fox. Was so thrilled. Got so many activities but in the end my friends settled on playing DOTA which we lost badly in. Then on Sunday went out to eat with my neighbour WILSON and he was so lucky that his first booster pack "zhong" foil....haiz and it was a good one as well. Anyway i had a good week after all and today can stay at home slack cause youth day. So happy "lor"!!

Today was school reopen though and I had a major change of teachers(Mr Kurt the american teaches my class history) and I am so happy to meet my friends after a long holiday. Haiz.......went up to stage today because of my short hair. Now i am "famous model student" haiz.....

This week i had a great week again as I had good food. On Monday I went to help out at my grandma's stall as my aunt was busy helping out at a big occasion in Red Hill Market. What is it? It was a gathering of Gods and I was quite surprised that such a thing still exists. Shows a great lot about our colourful culture in Singapore right? I ate barbequed stingray, fried carrot cake and barbequed chicken wings(the hawker centre has alot of barbeque stalls) and i worked till it was about 11.00pm. The train was still very packed then when I was about to return to my home. On Tuesday I ate Sakura Buffet with Wilson and it was a great expeience as the food there was good.On Thursday I went to School for another YFC meeting and I managed to start and tune the gas engine on my first attempt(wah....so happy)In the night i went to No Singnboard Seafood in Vivo city to eat as it was my parents 15 wedding anniversary. The food there was delicious...with Chilli crab, seafood toufu, fried baby sotong and Double Boiled lobster. So $$$$, but still must eat good for an important occasion right? On Friday i played Basketball with Wilson and Ying Chong. We lost terribly to Ying Chong's Primary School friends but it was a good experience. On Saturday i went to Vivo city(again....) as my mum and aunt wanted to shop for clothes. Haiz....wait for them again. Then we went to a place in Chinatown called "Tak Po". It serves Dim Sum and stuff but only the Siew Mai, the bigger looking Siew Mai called.....ah ya forget already and the frog leg was nice. It served as a bad experience to me though.

This week was EVENTFUL because its my BIRTHDAY on the 14th of June(14 years old already) and on that day I watched Kung Fu Panda(Po is so cute and fat, while Tai Lung is big and mean) at Great World city. Later,I went to eat a great lunch at a restaurant. I went to my uncle's house in the afternoon to get some PSP games. Oh yah, had another meeting the previous Thursday with only a FEW people(can count on my hand). Some PEOPLE had excuses not to come, except Ying Chong who was not feeling well. Its well justified not to come right? Anyway I must thank him for he is the first one to greet me "Happy Birthday". Thank You!!! And by the way, for the YFC members, we might be dropping out of the Combined School Camp.

At last this blog will be changed to my personal blog(this used to be my dt blog). The old post will still be there though until its time to place them into pasture(it means delete them). Not much has changed except the skin.So far the previous week has been busy for me as i had my YFC camp for 3 days 2 nights(never sleep much). After the camp on Friday I still have Combined School Camp meeting with all the YFC trainers from other schools(wah scared all the rank higher than me one).Still,I had a great time.

This is a digital caliper to any classic vernier-style one. It is a lot easier to read the digital display than the fine lines on a traditional caliper. The digital caliper displays units smaller than an inch in decimals. That's fine for the units like 1/4 inch displaying as .25 inches. The little gem shown here is a digital caliper that displays units in fractions on the screen. It has three modes: fractional inches, decimal inches, and millimeters.

Here's a nice little article on how to add a coin activation mechanism to your automata. Find a public location for your masterwork (retail store, library, restaurant, etc.) and you may be able to put that automaton to work for you earning $$$.This comes from Tim Hunkin of Cabaret Mechanical Theatre fame. He's the maker behind many of the larger interactive automata . He's also been a cartoonist and had a TV series called the secret life of machines.

Kazoo Toys offers building and construction toys from a host of toy makers. Shown here is the Superstruts Wacky Machines Set made by Waba Fun. This 175 piece building set includes 12 large gears and plans to build 7 models that include a clock, geared-down Ferris wheel, a car that drills, and other fun contraptions.

The automaton you see here is made by a company called hands pico. It is located in Japan. Look at is texture;very well polished right?

This is a automaton made of paper(looks like metal to me) .BELA the Bat flaps its wings in a realistic way. The bat is life-sized, with a wingspan of over sixteen inches. The design cleverly incorporates a crumbling headstone and rotting trees into the base.

This is a automaton that is shaped after a dragon. It is probably one of the first few automatons made in the world and it is made of a kind of metal. This piece is by artist Jason Lane entitled Dragon With Flapping Wings. He has created a series of mechanical sculptures ranging from hand-propelled works to a large scale human hamster wheel which generates electricity and plays old fairground organ music. Pretty cool.

Today you will be awed by this invention. It looks old though, and i do not know whether it works, but imagine: a motor-powered horse that is able to carry your weight!!!! It is one of the wacky inventions from France. Sure looks interesting right?

This is roughly what i plan to do with my mechanical toy. As you see it is made up of two cams but modifications will be made soon though.

These are the cams you can use in a mechaanical toy.The first is a conventional circle wood with a follower and make a toy go down-up or turn 360degrees upwards. The next one is a pear shaped cam which works basically the same as the coventional cam except that it only moves up and down but the motion is smoother than the conventional one. The third is a triangular cam which works the same as the pear-shaped one.

Look at this!!!!Here's a warning: some of this stuff is pretty gory, but after all they are horror props you know.Shown here is an AMAZING realistic alligator automata. It may set you back $8,900.00, but think: how much should the power be to send someone into cardiac arrest cost?
